From the history of formation and development of local history studies

Abstract

This article is devoted to a brief review of the local history studies’ formation and development. It is based on S.Akhmetova periodization of the local history development in Kazakhstan. There is a need to supplement it with two more stages covering the period of 1940-2017. Particular attention is drawn to the activities of various expeditions that worked during the XVIII - XIX centuries. Also there mentioned number of well-known researchers of the Kazakh region who made a great contribution to the study of the history, life, traditions and culture of the Kazakh people. As a conclusion, local history studies’ development tasks are made for Kazakhstani history studies.
